I currently have Geico for my truck and the only claims I've had to make (knock on wood) is glass which they were absolutely wonderful. I would insure the bike with them but the rates they were giving me were high. NATIONWIDE gave me the best rate. I've been fortunate enough not to have had to make a claim with them so I'm not going to be able to comment on how they handle customers when they have to pay out.

Here is a warning to everyone. Read your policy very carefully and stay away from American Family Insurance. My bike was stolen and even factory installed equipment was not covered. In addition they pay for a service that to value your bike and call it a third party valuation. In reality it is not much more than an average price off all the motorcycles of the same model on Craig's list. Then they subtract $500 or so for "negotiation"

Just paid my premium with Geico. $201 per year. Bodily Injury $300,000. Property damage: $15,000. Uninsured motorist: $25,000 pp/$50,000 per occurrence. Comprehensive and Collision: $500 deductible. I have a clean driving record (last 5 years and a high credit score - both help).

Progressive for me is about $550/yr. was about $400 but got a speeding ticket in my truck and it jumped up to 550. I shopped gieco but they were about $100 more. My mother n law is an Allstate agent that insures pretty much everything we have but she can never beat progressive on the bike.

Question Farmers/Foremost

Been with Farmers on the house, car, motorhome and motorcycle for years now. It's been $88/mo for 6 months (covers whole year) on my 01 Kawasaki Concours. I just switched to an 06 Ultra Classic & waiting to see what the new rates are going to be. I've heard good things from folks that have had to make claims with Progressive as well as their rates, but I've seen a lot of ad's for Dairyland. Anyone know anything about them?

Thanks,

*** Just got the bill form my Farmers agent, went from$88 on the Kawasaki to $344 on the Ultra? WTF - I'll be comparison shopping my butt off this weekend ;(
****Update**** The $344 it jumped to covers me for the rest of the year so I guess that's pretty good

I bought a new 2014 Street Glide. I needed insurance to take the bike off the dealers lot. I called Nationwide because they cover my home and cars. They qouted me a price of $86/month. The day after I rode the bike home, I called Geico and was able to get the same identical policy for $27/month. That's a huge savings.

Huh? My State Farm policy is due in May, and I'll be asking them about this, though who doesn't have health insurance these days?

Oh, and the policy for my 13 Breakout?... $162 a year. ('13-'14)

I have Rider Motorcycle Insurance. It's cheaper than what Progressive quoted me and I am Diamond status with progressive on my car insurance. I also don't have any accident or tickets for the past 10 years though insurance normally only checks 3. Rider is $218 a year. I am 30 and have had motorcycle license and insurance for 3 years. That is full coverage that meets PA and Harley's requirements. They include towing and also replace my helmets etc if stolen off my bike.

USAA no longer covers motorcycles. The pass you to Progressive which for me was very high. Geico was about 60% of what Progressive wanted for the same coverage.
