I'm in shock too but in a good way. New to MO 4 yrs ago. Started with Progressive at $1400, then Safeco at $800 and now Auto Owners at $400. Auto Owners only writes touring models. $1000 deductible all perils.

Amen, brother! It's almost like Auto Owners offers bike insurance as a courtesy to their Home/Auto customers. Superb customer service as well.

Problem with Auto Owners is they are a small company and only offer insurance to about half the states in the country.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm a bit surprised that no one has said anything about Rider's. I need to get something in place and now have some good suggestions.

This ^^^^^ is shrewd buying IMHO. After a couple of claim free years or so the premium savings vs "0" deductible coverage will pay for your rare fender bender anyway and from there, the longer you go without one the more $ you save with Insurance + savings = 100% coverage. "Smart" !

Sure is and for our bikes Progress was almost twice what GEICO wanted.

Had an 05 Soft tail Standard and paid $285 with Progressive. Last fall I traded it for a 2015 Street Glide Special. Progressive wanted $885. I have West Bend on my house and cars. They gave me the same coverage as Progressive for $165. Because of an umbrella policy I have to have max coverage so I am not cutting corners. I even has follow up calls from Progressive as to why I dropped my policy and comments I made on a survey. The girl was very nice and said she would pass on my experience I had with the increase. For some reason, Progressive does not like the larger bikes. FYI......I am over 60.....no accidents or a driving record and have a high credit rating.

Thumbs down

This is for those who have State Farm Insurance....If you ride with a passenger that passenger is NOT COVERED!.

They will only tell you that IF YOU ASK!. They will NOT volunteer that information.

I have a friend that had SF and when he was involved in an accident and was riding with his wife. She was injured worse than he was. Multiple injuries and SF would not and did not cover her. Because they don't insure passengers.
They figure that you have health insurance and that will cover any injuries. NOT! He was out $$$$$ .

So be sure and ASK! If you don't you will be left holding the bag and it can and will be very bad!
