Default Markel Mailer

I got a Markel mailer the other day....didn't think much of it. I have just recently traded my 07 FLHR for a 15 FLTRXS. My policy with Progressive for the upcoming 12 months (june thru june) will be up soon so I thought I'd get a quote. The quote is $252 per year cheaper with Markel. Same coverage amounts.
I'm in Michigan.

I was with Markel for a long time and last year went with Esurance, as it was cheaper by a bit. Might look at it too.

I used them when I first bought my bike then they raised there rates on me. I went online to get a new quote and it was lower again so I called them. They said there was a glitch and would honor the lower rate. I shopped around and found a lower rate with progressive through USAA until they raised there rates. Now I'm with Geico.

I've tried a few quotes with them, as I do many other companies every year when I renew. Markel for me wasn't as good of an offer, so far I can't find anyone to come close to GEICO.

Best rates by far for me. Markel beat Geico, Progressive, Allstate, and HD. $312/year full coverage for 2 bikes. Roadside assistance too.

I worked in shops for about 4 years ... all I can say about GEICO is ... hope you never have a claim with them ....

BTW - I've beaten GEICO's rates with lots of other companies ... Fired them last century, will NEVER go back - cute ads tho ...

I just had Markel quote me last week, over double what I am paying for State Farm with less coverage.

I just finished getting a quote from Markel for my 2011 TriGlide.
Their price for the same coverage I get from Nationwide for $570/yr was $908/yr.
That was almost as much as Progressive wanted to renew my coverage last year.
Which is why I switched to Natiowide in the first place.
Why are there such huge differences in the same coverage from one company to the next??
