As for the comment of them now being open to everyone I don't believe that is accurate. It is open to military and family of military. Unless something has changed, which I hope not as the customer service is unmatched as well as the claims process. Once it's open to everyone the service experience will erode.
USAA does do motorcycle insurance. Haven't had to use them for my bike but used them for the truck when a doe decided to kiss my front bumper. Whole claim was done is a little over a week..... Damn Bambi totaled a truck with only 66K on it. But I agree, they are great and would hate to see it ruined by opening it up to everyone. So OP, are you affiliated with the military in any way? Active, former, family?

I know some of you really like USAA but I cut all ties with them back in 2014. I almost filed a lawsuit against them over legal problems they caused me with my now deceased father.

I am a Viet Nam vet & qualify for USAA, but all of the quotes (home, auto, motorcycle), I have gotten from them have been much higher than my current policies with Erie for home & auto. I have 3 Harleys, insured thru Geico, 1, '98 Ultra Classic, full coverage, $302, 2, '06 Heritage Softail, full coverage, $250, & '14 Limited Rushmore, full coverage, $399, for an annual total of $952

C908 - I'd stick with the higher limits for 60.00, a lot of people carry bare minimum insurance and some don't bother with it at all. Makes a big difference if one of them hits you.

I'm at $250/$500k for supplementary uninsured/underinsured. That's an addition of $12 for one bike, $17 on another and $18 on the last one of our 3. That's per year. I'll take that all day long over getting hit by some **** bum with minimal coverage.
And as mkguitar says, I shop every year for every policy. If at all possible I do it by email. I send them my declaration pages so that they can look at the exact coverages I have.

I'm going to stick with the 100,000.00/ 300,000.00 it's not worth it to do less and worry. I was surprised that State Farm was $5.00 higher than Allstate. I have 5 polices with State Farm, own my home and been with them 47 years. They said no additional discounts for multiple polices and being a home owner.

Seems like most people here are down on Progressive, but they've treated me well. My rates have increased over the years, with a fair-sized jump when I bought the Limited.

However, part of what our premiums pay for is the service we get when we have to file a claim. Every insurance company is super nice when they're taking your money. The test of a "good" insurance company is how they act when you need them.

I haven't had a motorcycle claim yet, but I did have an auto claim when my daughter totaled my Blazer. There was some question about fault on the police report, which the insurance co's worked out to a 50/50 he said, she said. The Progressive claims adjuster was super nice, she had a check in my hand within two days, for more than I thought they'd give me. They gave me the higher end of 'fair market value' with no arguments or feet-dragging.

I had one claim with State Farm many years ago, and it was a fight to get anything out of them.

Can't do Progressive as they contribute to the DNC. GEICO and USAA are my current providers.

I see a lot of talk about the best price on a policy. Does anybody check the insurance company ratings? (commercial with the chick that says she should have researched the company?)

What limits to have for what? My insurance agent recommended a million in medical in case somebody gets hurt bad, and that is a big issue on bikes especially if you take passengers.

I am getting ready to shop and before my renewal date so looking forward to everybody's opinions.

I'm still shopping but so far my current company Allstate is the lowest at $401.00. At one time I know rates varied on how much commission the agents factored in, wonder if that still applies ?
