Insurance? Seems high!
I just got my insurance renewal and am actually paying attention to it this time. Progressive just quoted me $1550 on my 14 SGS and 05 Deluxe. I have a clean record and no claims. This seems crazy expensive to me. My GF pays $400 a year on her Vrod. So what do you guys pay? Do I need to shop this around again?

It all depends on your coverage's, deductibles and more importantly the Ins co you are with...
I'm going through this process now...I haven't got the renewal premium on my 2015 LTD as yet, but any day now...up to this point it was $500 for the usual good coverage's and $250 deductibles...I had Amica quote apples-to-apples and the best they could do was $1000...
Waiting to see what Liberty Mutual will quote the renewal premium at, then go from there...
May have to talk to the General...

When I bought My 2014 ,Progressive increased My rate to $680.I asked why? They said My credit score went down when I bought the new bike. What? If I can afford to buy a new bike why would that affect My credit score?Argued with Them to no avail.Went to Geico for a year. They were $420.The next year Progressive was the same rate.Go figure.
What I do now is check with a few companies at renewal time.Compare prices and decide whether to move to another company or not.

On our ’14 SGS I pay something like $400 at Progressive “0” deductible. However, my Insurance agent says the rates on our cars and house will be going up. I asked why, is it the weather in Colorado, hail, wind, etc? He said no, its uninsured motorists. More deporting may help resolve that in the future.

I'm 67, clean driving record, excellent credit. I've had Geico for my bikes for several years, and they have rarely increased my premium year to year. Currently I pay $350 for full coverage on my FLHTCU and liability only on my Yamaha FJR.
My liability limits are high, 300/100/300, and I reject UIM coverage.
Until last year, I also had my car, a 2015 Chevy Volt, on the same Geico policy, but then Geico, without explanation, just about doubled the premium on the car, but did not raise the motorcycles premium. I gave them every opportunity to fix it, but only after I moved my car to State Farm at the same old rate I had been paying to Geico, a rep called me and BEGGED me to come back, saying they'd made a mistake. The agent offered me a slightly lower rate than State Farm. I told them, sorry, I gave you your chance and you blew it. But, since they didn't raise my motorcycle portion, I kept the bikes on Geico.
You gotta watch these insurance lizards closely, and I'm also talking about homeowner's. They try to sneak in a $200 annual increase. I switch when they do. Best advice: shop around when they raise your rates.
