Default If You Don't Mind Me Asking-----

What are you people paying for insurance per year? The reason I am asking, my insurance is now due on my Super Glide. When I purchased my Sportster in September of 2007, my premium was $307 per year. September 2008, my premium went down to $280 per year. I traded the Sportster for the Super Glide the first of Febuary of this year. At this time, I paid another $131 to cover the Super Glide up until now. I did not think very much about it at that time, but now the premium is $486. I do understand that I have a larger bike, but this is an increase of over $200 for a bike that cost only about $1200 more. I have had no claims or accidents with either bikes or cages. Does the $486 sound about average? Thanks in advance to each and everyone who replies to this.

I traded my sportster in on a Fat Bob, and my insurance only went up about $20 a year.
Just a little over $325 a year.

It's next to impossible to compare insurance rates with other people though.
There are just too many variables that come into play.
Where you live, age, driving record, even your credit rating these days.

Be thankful you don't pay Canadian rates. I pay about 5 times the number you guys are talking. That's after splitting the basic and extra between two companies and having a clean driving record.

Same here........I'm in BC and it works out to about $1800/year onces ypu put it all together. A bit misleading though cuz you have to use the government insurance for you basic/mandatory portion of the insurance and that includes, licencing, registration etc. The "actual" insurance portion that I get from a private third party insurer and which covers me for collision, fire, theft, vandalism etc. is about $700/year
