Farmers wanted 980 a year for my 2011 48 Sportster and thats with my home and auto discounts! Called Geico and got the same full coverage with 250 deductible vs 500 at Farmers for 157 per year!!! I about fell out of my chair. Switched the cars over to Geico and saved another 1375 dollars per year. Best part about Geico is that I can call and get ahold of a live person 24/7 and can access everything on their website. Nothing but good things to say about Geico so far.

Hell, I feel lucky only paying about $270/yr for full coverage with Geico...

Progressive pretty much told me hat they no longer wanted my business after six with no claims, they more than doubled my premium. I went with Allstate, better coverage, less expensive. Note: I have Allstate for my home and cars.

While the road side assistance with Progressive sucks (it's contracted out to to a third party and they don't handle things well) I'm sticking with them because when you do have a claim they are right there to write you a check. They also cover safety equipment such as boots, jackets, chaps, etc.

My friend had American Family and hit a deer and they refused to pay for any of his safety gear.

Like JaronB I also have Progressive though USAA, (my car is USAA only)

When my '11 Wide Glide was stolen, Progressive did really well in settling my claim. I had a check relatively quickly, I thought. I didn't have to jump though a lot of hoops for my accessories either, they just had me list what I had put on the bike and took my word for it and gave me the retail price of my add ons.

I probably could get a cheaper rate on my '12 Wide Glide, but I am loyal to them for the service they showed me. A little peace of mind is worth something to me.

Dairyland couldn't even come close to my current State Farm annual cost with exact same coverages, which are higher than the legal minimums. I attribute part of this difference to my multiple insured items with state farm (3 vehicles + house).

State Farm = $416 / year

Dairyland = $633 / year

Progressive replaced my helmet over and above the settlement check on my bike.
While the adjuster was at the dealer he said pick any helmet you want on us.
Progressive did right in everyway in my case. I did have to give him a list of add on to the bike he was knew enough to spot them.

Wow I hear people with different insurance providers out there and I can't believe some of the rates that are being mentioned. It's tough out there. My husband and I have a 2013 Sportster 1200 custom and a 2014 883 Iron and we go through State Farm. They stack our policy with our vehicles and our home insurance and we get all the benefits of those policies with our motorcycle policy. Our liability is quite high also and we have a million dollar binder that covers us incase we get into an accident and get sued. I haven't found any other company that could offer that on my motorcycles. They usually only offer that on the vehicles. Anyways, on one of the bikes we pay around $350 and the other is $400. For what we get that's worth it. I've shopped around and my State Farm agent is the best. I wouldn't sacrifice cheap insurance for the quality of insurance I got with who I'm with. I live in Iowa. Don't know if that makes a difference. Good luck finding coverage for you bike.
