I now understand it that a local company handles claims for USAA in our area. I know that Progressive does not service our area being out here on Guam.

I have been a USAA member since 1986 and I have never had any major problems with the company. I am more than pleased with them. I bank with them, any loan I have is thru them, I bought my house thru them, my homeowners, auto, and other property insurance is thru them.

As someone asked earlier there preferred MC insurance is thru Progressive but Geico gave me a better deal.

USAA may be insuring the OP because he is in Guam military person, associated and other and or progressive is not available.

I have been with USAA for 47 years, as far as i am concerned the best company going.

Progressive rates were crazy high, GEICO is a significant competitor of USAA, the only policy i don't have with USAA is my bike, for that i have GEICO.

USAA doesn't insure motorcycles then send you over to Progressive.

You can't just jump in with a blanket generalization without some substance. Unless you really have spoken to every single military member that has USAA and they say they were ripped off. And that's not true because I had them the entire time I was on active duty, I loved them.

I had USAA insure my bike when I was on Guam, and did the switch to progressive when I got back to the states through them. Where do you work anyway? I spent 4.5 years there at NSWU-1. Just left May this year.

Default I have had USAA since they too enlisted

They used to be an officer only company. About 12 or so years ago plus i think is when they started taking enlisted. Now they take em all. I have been pretty pleased with them. My son totalled my truck and they gave me a fair price. Didnt give me what they should have for the damaged contents though. Will have to check into geico. my full coverage 100 ded with them for each of my bikes was about 260 year. When I was talking to them on the phone once i said why is USAA good with payouts. They told me they dont have the fake or fradulent claims that the other companies deal with. That is why they also send me a check at the end of the year. Depending on how much they had to pay out they give me like $250 back every year too. I bet you guys forget that who have it. I have car, bikes and personal property insurance through them. So far so good.
