Restored 1934 Harley Davidson VLD Solo. 74 cubic inch high compression flathead V-twin. This model has a complete loss (non- recirculating) oil system. There are no mechanical problems with the engine. The transmission is a three speed and not a reverse type model. It has no mechanical problems and shifts smoothly. The gearing is set up for speed rather than sidecar use. Electrical is original 6V system. Cannot find 6v battery with terminals on correct sides for this model, so we use a small motorcycle battery that fits in the battery box. We have the lead (Pb) cross-overs for use when showing the bike when the appearance of the battery is important. Otherwise, it runs better without them. Sheet metal is the correct 3 piece original steel with the narrow supports and is in excellent condition. The paint scheme is original, era-correct for colors, decals, layout and pinstriping. Color is Orange - Pictures look yellow? Leather cable sheath covers for the accelerator and the spark advance. The only flaw I know of is a small crack in the paint at a rivet on the back of the front fender. All of the restoration work was done professionally and this bike runs like a champ. Also included is the riders handbook, the correct grease fitting and a set of those rare N.O.S. H.D. 3-piece sparkplugs for this beauty.
