Hello from Covina Ca
Hi all...my name is John aka Busterjohn. I have always wanted a Harley and until recently was a big fan of the Springer Haritage...but lately the bagger have caught my eye...especially the Road King Classics. Well, during the summer my doctor found a tumor in my pancreas which turned out to be a cancerous tumor. They scheduled me for urgent surgery in July. I had a nice 1974 Corvette Stingray that I hated...lol. Don't get me wrong, it was a beautiful car and turned heads whenever I drove it...but it also costed me money every time I drove it! I ended up posting it on Craigslist for sale or trade for a Road King of equal value. Two days before my surgery I got a call from a guy in San Diego with a 2001 Road King Classic in pristine condition and only 8200 miles on it. He was an older guy who took very good care of the bike but just couldn't ride anymore. I drove my Vette down to San Diego and within an hour was riding my bike back home. I enjoyed it for 2 days before my surgery...my surgeon removed half of my pancreas along with the tumor and all the cancer cells. I have to sit there and just look at the bike for the first month and a half of the healing process. Once I got the okay to ride, I can't seem to get enough of it! the bike is basically stock so I have already purchased beach bars and a few more things to make it my own...I guess it will be a work in process like most of you know. I am new to this forum but already enjoy everything I have been reading and it has been very helpful so far!
