Default New front peg installation problem

I recently ordered a new set of pegs for my 2012 Sportster Custom. Upon arriving, I attempted to install them and the rear ones worked just fine but the front ones do not fit. The problem is that on the front female clevis mounts, the upper portion is longer than the lower is which is preventing the pin from going through. I really like the pegs that I purchased and do not want to return them unless it is absolutely necessary so my question is, can I replace the actual clevis with one similar to the rear one which has equal lengths on both sides?

Default Grind'em

Hi Mate,

There are after market and OEM options available, I'm in the UK and here they are £50+. I ground off the extra, I have found others have done the same, its a cheaper option and does not cause any issues.

Cheers

Hi from Vegas
Yes you can replace the clevis. HD parts can get them. They cost about $42.00 each. Why
the hell they changed the design is beyond me.
