New Guy, which bike to buy?
Hey all,
New guy from Jerzey.
My first post here.
Been riding since I was 13, bike-less for a few years. Life happens, anyway.
My dilemma, which bike to buy, my choices, are:
1994 FXLR smoking hot custom bike with worked motor, custom marble paint.
28,000 energetic miles, but not ridden in over 2 years. Needs some love. $5000.
or:
2002 Fatboy fuel injected, only 7000 miles. Stock bike except for pipes and chrome wheels. $7000- 7500.
The fatboy is the safe bet, but the superglide gets my heart pumping like back when I was on my old '74 sportster.
Too bad I can't afford both.

I agree with both of these statements. The FXLR reminds me of a bike that a buddy of mine bought from his brother in law. Similar year, similar paint, hot rodded. He picked it up in California and rode it back to Albuquerque. It blew up on him in the middle of nowhere in Nevada.
I'm not saying that's what will happen with the FLXR, but it's a chance you take with a worked bike.

Personally you need to buy a Road King Classic, because that is what I have and everyone should be like ME! "LOL" I would buy the FXLR If I was in your shoes, but I would take into consideration that their is not a dealership anywhere near you that would work on it, because its over ten years old.
