hello everyone, im trey! i just got my first harley and looking to do some stuff to it. for starters, its a 93 flhs. it was given to me by my dad. he is getting too old and worn to handle this beauty anymore, and didnt want to sell it. so he decided to give it to me. it sat in storage for 10+ years and got a bit dirty. he did have it serviced before he handed it over. i drove her from SC to TN 10 1/2 hours of cruising. so far i have replaced the stator, the battery and the voltage regulator. im looking to do a few things to it, to clean it up. i need to figure out how to remove all the panels, the gas tank, rear fender and front fender. im in the process of plastic dipping it. a year before she was parked my dads house caught fire, and did a good job of boiling the paint of the right side of her. so i just want to try out different colors until i find one that fits me. can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to remove everything? ive tried to bring back as much chrome as i could, but some of it is just unable to be saved so im going to just black it out, like my father would want, and need to figure out how to remove everything. i want to take her down to just frame and motor, and make her beautiful once again. any help is appreciated.

 

Welcome from Ohio. Best bet is to search the forum and Youtube for specific pieces to take apart...just remember to label everything so you know how it goes back.

welcome and your best bet is get the HD service manual, the other ones arent' as good.
