Just rode a '16 Softail Slim off the showroom floor a couple of weeks ago. Second bike I've owned but first HD. I'll be spending some time here researching things I need to know, i.e. tools to purchase, etc.
Ride safe.

Welcome. Good thing we live in FL. Where the riding season never ends.
First thing comes to mind, the Magnuson Moss Act of 1975 protects you from warranty problems if you choose to save 50% by using independent shops for the 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, etc. full service. Dealers will charge you an arm and leg for maintenance. You can even do it yourself if you feel capable and save your receipts. Dealerships prey upon intimidating tactics to get your to over pay for service. Also, you can get tires at a great discount below dealership prices. The average shop installation is $50 a wheel, but $100-120 at a dealership.
Space Coast Harley is currently being sued for several state violations for telling their customers their warranty will be void if they do not get service there. It's been petitioned with 100 signatures already. Hello State Attorney General, we need action!
My personal favorite tire for my two Softails was the Michelin Commander ll.
