New guy from Utah
Howdy all. Just joined today after picking up my first Harley. It is a 94 Sportster 1200 with 5400 original miles. I have been riding since 1970 and have owned probably around 30 bikes over the years. My last couple of bikes have been BMW airheads. I like old school riding.
Today, I bought a beautiful blue Sportster and am looking forward to getting acquainted with it. My very first impression during my test ride was that the thing likes to just fall into turns. Quite disconcerting but I suppose I will get used to it. Do they all do that?
The bike has been ridden very little, as you can see. I do all my own wrenching and figure I will do a major tune up along with re-greasing and fluid changes. It will need new tires because these are the original tires. I don't even see any cracking, but for safety's sake, I better change them
Any suggestions on how to proceed will be appreciated. I have a factory service manual already.
Thanks for having a great site here!
