Another New Member - sort of
Hi again, I say again as I was a member a long time ago...when I used to ride a Roadglide.
While times and years have gone by and I am now riding a little smaller bike, a 2012 Dyna Superglide custom. I bought it used about a month ago and since its bone stock...I have some plans for it.
A bit about me, I am 51, married with two kids, retired (medically) Military 23 yrs. Been into motorcycles it seems my whole life, starting with racing dirt bikes and then a safety instructor teaching motorcycle safety (8 yrs).
Been into Harleys since late 80's with my first bike being a 1978 1/2 anniversary FLH. The black and gold version. I rebuilt it completely in my living room. Next bike was a 1987 Heritage Softail, completely rebuilt that into a show bike. Next was a 1998 Superglide, again changed that one into a full bagger with custom everything....then a 2001 Roadglide..road that for a year then got completely out of bikes for 8 yrs. In 2008 I found a really nice 98 Roadglide which I road until 2 summers ago when I found I was unable physically to hold it up or ride it (due to injuries sustained during military service).
fast forward to last month, and I got the itch again...and bought the bike I have now. I am going in Oct to have my knee replaced so it should help with riding again but out of all the bike I have had, this one is "so far" the best.
Future project plans:
All ready have in hand waiting for a rain day to put on:
Forward controls (I have a used set off a 09 bob)
Thunderheader
Wideglide conversion (I have fatbob tress and HHI conversion kit)
Headwinds rocket headlight (chrome)
1 1/4" Fat roadking style bars with internal wiring
Chrome control covers etc
Powervision (on order)
Big sucker aircleaner (on order)
She should look good when done.
Here she is stock:

Welcome from the Texas Gulf Coast region. Great looking bike. Best of luck with your surgery and thank you for your service. Keep the rubber side down when you get back to riding.
