New member of Ladies of Harley - HOG owner
I just bought my first Harley, a Street 750, and immediately arranged for the bike to be customized to fit my personality. It's the first bike registered in my name so I'm pretty stoked.
My late husband was an avid Harley rider and owner of a nice motorcycle collection. Unfortunately I encountered a "Lady v. Heavy Motorcycle" incident in the garage. The heavy motorcycle won and my elbow was severely injured. I had to summon AAA to get the motorcycle back up again. That encounter made me realize just how heavy all his bikes were and was part of making me pick the lighter bike of approximate 400 lbs.
I probably will add another Harley within a year, after I've better handle of riding on my own. It's quite a challenge to lose your significant other but I do look forward to getting to know my first Harley on my own. Motorcycles and particular Harley Davidson were a huge part of our lives and now part of my life. My late husband's favorite Harley was the Electra Glide Ultra Classic, but that is a very heavy Harley.
I sent my Street 750 off to a HD dealership to be disassembled and my selected parts to be powder-coated and airbrushed in the theme I selected.
