I love the new blackout models: problem is they didn't start making parts for in black for Glides until 2008. I have become quite the paint and body guy though; well sort of; my Cobalt Blue 2006 Glide is coming along great( hope to have pics soon) but I do have a question about the bar across the rear fender. Is this structural or was it for a detachable box or some thing that I am missing? I did not notice the difference until I sold my trusty '05 Dyna Wide to upgrade for distance bike, but I still want personality with my distance. So I'm just curious if this round bar is needed or can I just do away with it or will that cause the saddlebags to become unstable? By the way this seems like an awesome forum; first time I've joined this type of site. Likin it so far: hope ya'll feel the the same! Not to good with computers either; so patients is GREATLY appreciated! LIVE FREE RIDE HARD
