New member from Perth and Woods cams query
G'day all
Touching base from Perth, Western Australia. I have a 1996 Nostalgia named DA BIKE which has been with me for 15 years. I have 4 sets of tanks and guards, 4 sets of pipes, a couple of different sets of handle bars and two seat and pillion set-ups, so I like to re-invent it every now and then and give it a makeover. One of the sets of sheet metal are the original green/gun metal grey of course! Most of the time it's a stripped down custom solo ride though, just how I like it :-).
The highlight of my relationship with da bike is definitely the 100th anniversary, when I shipped my bike from here to San Francisco and began a 3 month, 23000 km road trip that took me from coast to coast and border to border, visiting 35 states and dozens of iconic cities, landmarks, buildings, bridges, highways, parks and mountain ranges. Took in Sturgis, the 100th celebration party (ah Elton, way to thin a crowd!), had close calls with a tornado and a hurricane, met Arlen Ness and his family and met many other fantastic people all over.
But enough about me, I'm keen to learn more from the infinite experience of the riders who subscribe. I was led to this forum after I did a web search on Woods cams. A mate of mine who has recently returned from a 3 year work stint in the US, has brought back his 08 fatty with nothing but V&H pipes, woods cams and a power commander module, and it keeps up with another buddy's 103 powered fatty with a stage 4 kit through it. So, and here comes my question for those who haven't got bored yet, has anyone put a stage 3 or 4 S/E kit through a 110" but substituted the Harley cams for Woods cams? I have a deposit down for a 2014 CVO Breakout, and I want to plan the engine work before its delivered (April 2014). Most feedback I've read about Woods cams is that they're pretty awesome. Any advice?
Giddyup brothers!
Sorry, and sisters!
