Howdy, everybody. My name is Tom (Roadname "Squirts"). Been on motorcycles since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Army vet; Life member of the VFW. Current rides are a '72 Shovelhead; '80 Goldwing bob job; '82 Goldwing "naked" bagger. The '72 has a stock frame with a bored/stroked shovel using S & S cases, jugs and lower end, Andrews cam, ported/polished heads, and breathing through an S & S Super "B" (simpler is better) =)
The '80 bob job is an 1100 cc "stripper" with stock internals and breathing through a '54 Ford Holley 2 barrel carb sitting on a home-made intake. Both the bob job and bagger are jockey shift/ hand clutch. The bagger has a stock engine except for Randakk carb kits and all the extra (bullsh*t) plastic and assorted gee gaws have been removed. I've ridden all kinds of motorcycles over the years and don't get my panties in a twist over "brand identification". I do most of my own wrenching and know first-hand that if it's man-made it can be man-broke. (regardless of who built it in the first place).
I come here seeking knowledge and have searched through the messages for awhile before jumping in and signing up. Respects to all and may you all have smooth road 'n sunny days. =) Squirts
