Has anyone put the 12" Twin peak bars on 14 SG?
Hi , I was searching the threads on bars when I came across someone saying that they put the 10" Twin peaks bars on and did not have to change the cables out so I was wondering if they needed to be changed out on 12" bars? Also what else is needed to install the 10"s or 12"s on the bike? Thanks for your time, Todd

10" you will make it with what you have, it is tricky but you will have to remove some cable ties and the cables will be tight. Also I had to pull plug connectors out of holder on back of radio and push them back under to attach connectors. Tens you will need to put mirrors on bars cause fairing mounted mirrors are useless. If going 12" I would put extra long cables on and longer wire extensions so you don't have to mess with connectors .

There are instructions on this forum will a full picture tutorial posted by bpd138. I'd link it here but I'm not that technically savvy. The instructions include pictures of every step. If you are mechanically inclined at all, you can do it. A couple of suggestions though. I would buy the Screaming Eagle throttle by wire it will save a lot of hassle. Also, buy the premade wire extensions made by Harley or Namz. Use a light chain to run through the bars in order to feed the wires. The chain seems like the easiest way to fish a lead through. You drop it in, shake the bars a little and the chain pops right out of the bottom hole. PM me if you have any other questions.

All great suggestions...I did 12" twin peaks last weekend. I used a 12" set of extensions for the hand controls, the tbw wire was long enough. I put some extra tape around the tbw connection to ensure it didn't get busted up.
Use a small diameter chain as mentioned. The shop manual is helpful for disassembly/assembly, but doesn't offer anymore help than that.
I took off all the zip ties on the clutch/brake cable and did a little moving of the wires and they are the perfect length. Not too tight, but def. not loose either.
Just take your time with the wiring through the bars. That took me the most time along with getting the angle of the bars correct.
