Default Check your Triple Tree Pinch Bolts

I decided to swap out the stock sliders and cowbells for a set of denim black powder coated ones yesterday. When I went to loosen the triple tree pinch bolts I immediately noticed that none of the 6 really required any sort of torque to loosen, and even more alarming was that my right upper stanchion tube was protruding about 3/16" above the top triple tree, while the left was not. Anyway, doing some reading I found I'm not the first person to find this, so figured it may be worth it to share.

They were tight on my bike, but you would think that would be one of the checks at the top if the list for the $300/1000 mile service. Not just the money but from a safety point.

14-18 ft lbs, I set my wrench to 15 and they were not to spec. I only checked the lowers, same torque for the uppers.

I also checked mine and yes they did require about 1/4 turn before torque wrench clicked, guess this is something I'll check on my routine maintainence.
