Default Rust removal

I have a '14 Ultra which I usually keep in my mini barn. The barn has an 8' ramp and can be quite slippery on wet mornings, so most of the summer if it was calling for good weather, I left the bike in the driveway with a cover on it. Most mornings the dew was fairly heavy and lately I have noticed rust on the inside of my mufflers (Vance & Hines dual slash) Any ideas on what I can use to remove the rust without damaging the mufflers.

Thanks

Thats one thing ive been looking at in my quest for new slip-ons RUST. Ive seen a few of that style rusting maybe just surface rust but still should not be there. Maybe some light steel wool and wd-40 might work.

Maybe some chrome polish or car wax? Both have a minuscule amount of abrasives in them, and I've used it for minor surface rust on car parts before.

Inside the muffler?

Once you ride it some, the soot will coat it, and it won't rust.

0000 steel wool and Windex.

I have used black stove paint to paint over the rust.
