I am looking at a 2014 Amber Whiskey/Black limited. I have a 2008 ultra classic with 38k on the clock. I can give them my bike (trade in ) and $17000.00 out the door for the 2014.
Question......is this a deal or no deal.

 

Seems pretty low for your trade. I paid 23k out the door for my 14 ultra limited
And received 18k trade for an 11 RGU with 20k on the clock

 

I bought a new '14 black for $22 plus tax and title, could have got a "14 two tone for $23 plus tax and title. Ohio tax about 7% title work with 30 day tag $200

 

This all depends.... my 2014 Limited was $27,000. I also added almost $300 in accessories - so now we are at $30,000. Add sales taxes plus $1800 extended attendant - we have hit $34,000.

I got $19600 for my 2011 - and was happy with that - so, I had to write a check for almost $15,000.

Based on your brief overview, I cant tell about your because you didn't share all you are adding, if anything.
So, how much is he selling the new bike for - and how much are you getting for your trade - this would help.

 

That's a great offer IMO. Demand for pre 09 touring bikes is pretty low. Price will be the primary motivation when it's sold. Your offer is out the door for a far superior bike.

My local dealer has 20 or more used touring bikes, to me it's almost scary looking at how many used baggers for sale. With respect, I'm sure you know the 08's have a one year frame, the bottom ends suffered a lot of failures along with the 07's. I traded a 07 CVO Ultra on a 14 Limited without a single regret.

Hell no! A leftover 14 should be at or under MSRP OTD. Off the top of my head I'm guessing $25—26k or so for the two tone limited. That means $8-9k for your bike. Much better deals out there.
