Exclamation Surdyke playing games

got a email today from Surdyke Harley offering 20% off and free shipping on orders over $150. Well you have to check this out they are adding in sales tax that you would pay in the store in state and then subtracting the "20%". Do they think we are stupid?

There are a few states & city areas that require internet sellers to collect sales taxes on all purchases no matter if they are in state sales or not. More & more states are looking to this method to increase revenue for the state.I dont know if thats the law where Surdyke is or not.

They are not collecting tax just using the amount that you would pay as part of the discount. Very deceptive

They started this 2 weeks ago (at least I noticed it then). You're getting the 20% off of the price after sales tax included.

I have to believe that if the dealer is collecting sales taxes, he has to pay them to his state. The penalties for not paying are off the wall.

As to discounting the 20% before sales taxes or after sales taxes- well, you decide which is beter.

Given the example of 6% sales taxes and an item that cost $100.
OK - item cost $100 - less the 20 percent = new cost of $80. Then 6% of $80 = $4.80 so total cost is $84.80

Example to $100 + 6% of 100 is $106.00. Less that 20% = $21.20 So, $106 minus $21.20 = $84.80.

OK - you decide -which do you want?
