Default Rear shock question

For all you shock gurus I have a 14 limited with the stock rear shocks on it and was wondering if I went to the street glide shocks would that drop any height out of my bike.
Thanks

You can drop 3/4 inch with a Road King seat and not have to readjust Your headlight and continually have to watch for damaging exhaust at curbs.

I did it with mine, and it makes a noticeable difference, both in ride and in ride height.

You put on shorter air shocks and they ride BETTER? Details?

Everyone has their favorite way to do this. Here's a few I have tried.
1) Stock Streetglide shocks. Lower, shorter shock travel, stiffer ride. I didn't really like it.
2) Stock shocks with a 1" - 1 1/2" lowering kit. (rear only) I would say, it rode just like stock, aka, no modification. Cheap. found them on the Bay for about $30. I did this on 3 different bikes. No Problems with handling or dependability.
3) Contact "motorcycle metal". This is not the cheapest route, but, It's probably the best. The make the shocks to FIT YOU! You won't lose any travel AND, they can set the ride height you want.

Yes, either the stock SG or the SGS shocks will lower you almost an inch. I did the HD single cartridge lower front fork and the SGS shocks in the rear of my 2014 Limited. The ride is stiffer but more controlled. As long as you are over 200 lbs, the SGS shocks are very good. If you are lighter than that, they will be too stiff. I now have the Progressive 944's on the rear and am very happy with the stance, handling and ride quality.

Agreed with sbeamer, I really don't need to start another collection of motorcycle parts that don't work or I just didn't like.
The ohlin shocks come with a lot of r&d that other manufacturers copy. Howard at motorcycle metal can set up the correct spring rates per your required weights and change something if needed. There's more to understanding shocks than first meets the eye, that Iv only recently finding out. I would like to just throw a set of shocks on the bike and go. but every time I take for granted that the system or the parts are proven I end up paying for it, twice.
Good info link to help understand spring rates, weights and how to determine what's correct for you.

When I had around 1000 miles, I swapped the stock 13" air shocks for the `12" Premium LOW Hand Adjustables from a Street Glide Special.

The ride height wasn't noticeable to me.

The ride was better, but not "good".

I swapped for a set of 13" Premium Hand Adjustable shocks, and that made a world of difference in the ride, and still didn't notice the 3/4".

I'm 5'11, long waisted, short legged.
