Avoid ever spraying water under the seat's electronic assemblies, especially the ECM connectors, & also avoid the left side cover fuse box & BCM assemblies. I was cleaning that section the other day, there are so much dirt that collects behind those components, I guess it will get dirty as the drive belt & drive gear are like a few inches away from that area.
I learned the hard way back in '2012, just got back from Sturgis bike as awfuly dirty, stripped everything off, sprayed water everywhere...after a few weeks, bike was went to limp mode several times, open ECM connector and walla, green corroded stuff all over...cleaned with alcohol, applied dielectric grease & sealed the connectors with one of those 3M blue painter's tape.
If I had to do it allover again, I probably would have removed the EMC, tape sealed all the connectors. But no guarantee that all the many other connectors will get water inside & begin to rust & cause intermittent issues...in short just wipe that area with a dry rug and leave it alone...

It is. So is the Suzuki spray wax and cleaner. Honda was reformulated, and isn't like the original Honda.

Yes it is.

So I agree that it's great stuff. I probably go through 5 or 6 cans a year. I guess I should pony up and buy a case.

When i wash the bike a i use a hand spray bottle mixed with water and some car wash. I use another one filled with water to spray any soap off. this is only done occasionally, tires under carraige. Keeping away from intake and electrical.
But i do use another wash, clean wax most of the time, similar to:
Or what i use is FW1, same waterless cleaner, polish. I really like this stuff when cleaning the wheels too, i can wipe down clean and polish without having to go back and move bike again. You can do the bike about 6 or 7 times with one can. I bought 12 cans/a case, for 100 dollars from a vender on the Army post.
No issues with this and it does a great job, then sometimes finish with a detailer spray..

As others have said, I rarely use a hose and bucket. Mostly, I use the Honda polish (aka Suzuki polish, aka Original Bike Spirits, aka a bunch of other names, apparently).
If my wheels and tires are pretty dirty, I'll clean the bulk of the crud off of those with Simple Green, mixed from concentrate. I'll then go back over them with the Honda polish. That's probably no easier than doing it with a hose, but I don't like having to go to the trouble of rolling out the hose just to clean my wheels.
