Default Remote Garage Door Opener # 91558-01B

Hello everyone;

The instructions for this kit say to purchase connection kit # 69200722

However, the instructions for the door opener are not updated to include 2014 models, so not sure how to connect using the connection kit.

Do I absolutely have to use the connection kit, or can I install the way I installed the opener on my 2013 Ultra?

Thanks for any and all replies!!

I'd do a search for that part number...

I forgot where I found this but use this link to get the proper instructions:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/app-c...ts/-J05688.PDF

I installed it using the harness as prescribed.

I didn't buy any harness for putting the kit in my '15 Limited Low. I tapped into the cig lighter wire for power.

Nobody died.

Those instructions are WAY to complex for such a simple job.

I did the same on my 2014. Extra harness is still in the box on my bench. I don't use the lighter anyhow.

Does this remote work with LiftMaster rolling code openers?

Yes it does. The kit doesn't talk to your garage door opener directly. There is a plug in unit that has two leads that you wire to the terminals on the door like you would for the wall opener.

Then when you flash your headlights the receiver unit closes the loop and triggers your door opener as if you'd hit the button on the wall.

It works quite well. I'd imagine most garage door openers are plugged into a dual outlet in the ceiling so you should have one of those free to plug in the receiver unit from the kit. Then the wires to run to the terminals on the opener are just the short distance from there.

To Bikerscum and Jagpanzer:

The new instructions do show how to hook up the remote to a Rushmore model,

HOWEVER, my opener module has a 4th (yellow) wire. I have no idea where to hook it up to, or do I not use it??

Thanks for your help!!!

Mine has 3 wires...

The white wire goes to the blue/white wire on the headlight plug, the orange/white goes to the cig lighter wire (or any switched 12v line) the black wire goes to ground.

Don't know what another wire could be for. Maybe it's an antenna?

Mine has only 3 wires as well. The instructions have notes about what to do if the transmitter has both a white and a yellow wire. Not sure why you'd have a different version but the directions seem to account for it.
