Default Security PIN . . .

Has anyone tried to setup a security pin? I’m pretty good at following directions but must be missing something? The first (small) issue is the manual instructions use the word “run”. I think they mean “ignition”. There is NO run on the start console. Secondly, you have to go and “accept” that riding a motorcycle could be dangerous to your health … before you can attempt to do anything. The manual instructs you to toggle "run, off, run, off, run" and then hit your left flasher twice ... Don't forget, run means ignition. Then, someone forgot to tell someone that each time you turn it of "off" you have to go through the "Accept" screen again. Go figure ... I’ve tried several times now and am batting zero. eerrrr! Any ideas?

I didn't watch the video, but, Don't Forget, Run Means Run, it does not mean ignition. The Run switch is on the right handle bar and can also be known as the kill switch, and if you have owned any HD before 2014 then you will recall the button would have written on it off-on top and run-on bottom, and the symbols that are on that switch now, that is what they mean off-on top and run-on bottom. So you don't have to go thru all the things you are attempting to do, because that is not the run switch, it is the ignition switch, but you should know that by the time you read this far.

I see that you are probably now watching the video, and came back while I was typing, anyway, you should have it down by now.

Your PIN # will appear in your odometer, not your infotainment screen. On off is done with the kill switch not ign switch.

I set mine with no issues.
The infotainment system has nothing to do with the security PIN.
So, not sure why your having to hit the "Accept" button all the time.

I followed the instructions right from the owners manual.

To Change PIN Number

1. Select a 5-digit (1 thru 9) PIN and write it down
2. With an assigned fob present, turn the OFF/RUN switch to OFF
3. Turn the ignition switch to IGN
4. Cycle the OFF/RUN switch: RUN - OFF - RUN - OFF - RUN
5. Press left turn signal switch 2 times (ENTER PIN will scroll through the odometer window)
6. Press the right turn signal switch 1 time and release (Turn signals will flash 3 times and Current PIN will appear in odometer. First digit will be flashing)
7. Enter first digit of new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch “a” times (a = 1st digit of new PIN)
8. Press right turn signal switch 1 time and release (New digit “a” will replace the current in odometer window)
9. Enter 2nd digit of new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch “b” times (b = 2nd digit of new PIN)
10. Press right turn signal switch 1 time and release (New digit “b” will replace the current in odometer window)
11. Enter 3rd digit of new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch “c” times (c = 3rd digit of new PIN)
12. Press right turn signal switch 1 time and release (New digit “c” will replace the current in odometer window)
13. Enter 4th digit of new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch “d” times (d = 4th digit of new PIN)
14. Press right turn signal switch 1 time and release (New digit “d” will replace the current in odometer window)
15. Enter 5th digit of new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch “e” times (e= 5th digit of new PIN)
16. Press right turn signal switch 1 time and release (New digit “e” will replace the current in odometer window)
17. Turn the OFF/RUN switch to Off, then turn Ignition key to OFF. (Pushing the OFF/RUN switch to OFF stores the new PIN in the module)

Following the manual exactly works just fine.
