Default Headers and Breather: Just a down load? Or tuner

I am wanting headers and a big sucker for my 14 sgs. I already have 4" rineharts slip ons. The bike is stock now. Is it in the popular opinion to get a tuner? Or go with just a download from HD once these are installed. I do not plan on getting cams, engine work ect...
Thx.

Tuner. Download is a waste of money.

Tuner. Which one is your choice. The download from HD will still keep it lean to adhere to EPA standards. Tuners allow you to richen it more.

If you've changed mufflers then the bike is not stock.
The consensus of this forum is "don't waste the money on a download. Get a tuner that will flash a new map to the ECM."

I've run TTS Master Tune, Thundermax and currently - DynoJet Power Vision, (PV2). The Power Vision 2 would be my recommendation. Find a map that matches your build and do a few auto tunes. If you do a stage 1 and no engine mods you will not need to get it Dynoed.
We are running the PV2 on a 2015 and 2014 FLHTK wet heads and after auto tuning couldn't be happier, also get 45 mpg average.
Good Luck

Tuner... A tuner might (key word might) have it run OK, but a Tuner will make it run Great! they are opposite ends of the spectrum in what will make the bike run properly

I will be looking into tuners. How is the Fuelmoto micro reviews? For $199 its sounds ok.

I've got the SE A/C, slip-ons, header, and PV2. I had the stage 1 download done a year ago when I added the mufflers and A/C. I recently purchased the PV when I added the headers. In reality the bike runs fine with the PV tune, but it also runs fine with just the stage 1 download map. I had the stage 1 download on my 09 Ultra and that ran great too. The difference is the stage 1 map will run more lean and hence supposedly hotter to some degree. I guess it's up to the individual if they can really tell the difference.

I'd like to see an experiment in which two bikes are set up the same except for maps. One bike has the stage 1 download and the other a canned PV map. Ten riders have no idea that the maps have been altered, they're just asked to ride the bikes and give impressions on how the two bikes run. I wonder how many people in a blind study could really tell the difference between an stage 1 download and a canned PV map without knowing that either ECU had been flashed. I would suspect that folks might be able to identify a dynotuned bike, but a canned PV map vs Harley download, I really don't know.
