Default More power by removing fiberglass packing?

Since it was the 4th I wanted my bike to make some more noise. This morning I pulled the packing off my baffles from my VH Monster Rounds.

After the ride today I noticed a power increase that was felt throughout the powerband. I did not think this was possible but like I said its noticeable.

I have the VH Powerduals along with the FP3 and Fule Moto intake. The sound increase was not that much but its more for sure, but the power increase I was not expecting. I am going to leave the wrap off of the baffles, I like the sound better and sure like the power.

The 'butt' dyno is horribly unreliable. The EFI may have compensated a bit for any increased air flow but rear wheel HP increase should be minimal.

After checking the Fullsac site about the over packing of the CVO mufflers, I decided to tear into the mufflers and do my own baffle adj. Removed the baffle, opened the front to rear section, removed the resrictor tube and reassmbled baffle. I used some expanded metal and formed a tube around the baffle (air space), rewrapped the assy. with the fiberglass media(about half the media) and stuffed back together. They have a much freeer flow with a bark at throttle and great cruise sound. Several adj. with Power Vision auto tune and seems to working quite well. Not sure if the packing is making that much difference but it should help protect the chrome from heat and blueing.

Anytime you make it louder you "think" you just unleashed a tiger. In most cases you actually made it slower.

exactly, some back pressure is great for low end performance. If you keep it a 6000 RPM all the time, then open it up all the way; normal riding, stop to 3000 RPM ya' need that balance and that's the trick.

NO TRICK HERE, JUST "BALLZ OUT"

LOOK MOM I HAD HAIR!
