Or perhaps we should just have the MOCO limit the speed on these things to what...80, 90, 95...to keep those that have an arbritrary "that's too fast" mentality from critiqueing the rest of us?
How exactly do you know that at 120 in the dark? You are obviously outriding your headlights. You could hit an animal, or obstruction and crash into others as your wreckage goes careening down the road. If OP's a big dog he should have the guts to admit it was stupid. He is endangering others, like the flight medic (like my son) who has to take off in a helicopter to pick up his pieces, or the EMS and LEOs speeding to the scene, may crash. So there is no such thing as not endangering others at 120, at night.
Flame away.

Never said anything about doing it at dark, nor was I suggesting that it was ok. I was commenting on the fact that comments were made to the effect that 120 is too fast. Too fast for whom? The poster, ok...I get that. But to flame a generic "120 is too fast...", then let's get the NHSTA to impose a regulatory maximum speed on motor vehicles in general given the opinion that "there's no reason to ride them that fast", or for that matter any vehicle that fast.

Hell, it's real simple for any vehicle. Keep the displacement, keep the acceleration, keep the torque, keep the horsepower...just slap a speed limiter on every vehicle at 90mph seeing as how the fastest speed limit in the US is I believe 85mph.

If you read the OP, it was dark and he was bragging how F*cking stupid he is!! I never said a word about 120 being too fast, as matter of fact I like speed too, but not in the dark, that's just plain Stupid!

The fastest I been on a Harley was 115 MPH, but knowing how far off Harley speedometers
are I would say it felt more like 110 MPH.

Friend and I were cruising at around 90 on the same stretch of road just before the Norris exit one day and were passed by a Camaro. I checked my mirrors and all I saw was THP blue lights. He stayed behind us for just a bit and then passed and pulled over the Camaro. We got off at the Norris exit and quickly disappeared. That was a close one.

I'll play. This was on my 15 CVO Road Glide. Zumo GPS speed. Smooth as butter and I had plenty of throttle left. I got passed by a Camaro while going this speed.

I was passing a car yesterday with my Rushmore RGS with my wife on, didn't downshift,, was in 5th I think,, rolled onto the throttle at about 50,, pullling really strong, looked down and saw 95 on the speedo so fast it wasn't funny,, damn,, I'm in my break in, only 180 miles on it! LOL.. it was pulling strong at that speed,,

NOTE I don't do that stuff with the wife on usually,, it got to 95 so smoothly and quickly I didn't realize I was going that fast...

I have a 2014 flhxs stock was good for 180 kph (111 mph). After 120st engine swap good for atleast 220 kph (136 mph). Speedo it pegged in 5th at about 5000rpm. Never tried six yet LOL. Not bad for a Harley LOL! Still no match for my BMW s1000rr hp4. Had it up to 286 kph (177 mph) many times. Street Glide gets a bit sketchy after 200, should really start looking at steering dampers. Any body have any recommendations?

Just wondering if anyone has upgraded the brakes on these things? Doesn't stop worth a **** from those speeds LOL. New to the Harley world, rode sport bikes for a bit. Can't say I miss them much!
