Question 47-ish MPG. About right?

I ride pretty conservatively and I'm getting a consistent gas mileage of around 47 MPG with the un-modded motor on my '15 Limited. It doesn't seem to vary much, regardless of the type of roads or terrain - hills, flat, curvy, elevation etc. or average speed.

That seems about right to me, but I was wondering what others were getting.

I use Shell Premium gas exclusively when it's available - not that that probably matters much.

BTW, LOVE this bike!!!!

I don't ride that conservatively. I see 40-42 mph.

I get anywhere from 37 mpg on interstate superslab (>80 mph) to nearly 50 mpg running 40 to 60 sightseeing. Curiously, it always gets better mileage at higher altitude than at sea level. Prolly 'cause it leans itself out as it goes up.

Just got done with a 700 mile weekend with a friend. He had a 15 SGS no mods...I RGS stage one, rush pipes. We rode pretty hot in and around the Sierra Mountains up to 9,200 ft. Each time we hit fuel he was 45 mpg and I was 39 mpg. We traded bikes a couple of times and the performance was not even close. His throttle lagged big time and could to accelerate like mine with the mods plus his was hotter with no sound. I will try dialing mine in a bit more to improve milage, but at this point it is worth the performance gain to me.

I can't get 40. Usually 35-37.

Runs like a scalded dog.

As I just posted in another thread, I just came back from a 4 day app. 900 mile road trip, averaged about 46 in 75% open road 25% city riding. That included one tank of non ethanol where I got 50 1/2. Three weeks earlier did 5 day 1500 miles with a group of sport bike hares and got around 44. No mods, totally stock and I always use the highest octane available.

Was getting around 42 HWY cruse set at 80, speedo is off 6% so was 75.
45 twisties 40 to 55, taking into account the mileage being off
14 Ultra Classic with stock AC, 2012 CVO, still have the cat and last Thursday installed FP3 set to stock AC and stock exhaust, not auto tuned yet
After riding 200 miles I set the throttle to Standard Plus.
600 mile weekend HWY 70 to 75 and twisties, now up to 49 taking into account the speedo being off.
I don't hammer it very much at all, but it ain't babied

Getting better than my old 07 Sportster
