Default 2015 Ultra Limited Stock Muffler Question

Pulled my bags off to see how those clips work and noticed that the mufflers have indentations about 2" long under the shocks. It doesn't seem quite uniform enough to be part of the design. If you look between the passenger footboard and the bags you can see it. Anyone else have the same, or did it bottom out on the shocks before I took possesion?

They are part of the design..... now get rid of them and put a pair of Fuel Moto jackpots or eSeries and wake that bike up

The indentations are to keep the shock from hitting the pipe.
Check out this eBay listing and see if that is what you see???? See Si

Stock CVO mufflers, save em, you might want to put them back on.

Thanks Vernal. Picture paints a thousand words. That is exactly right. It just didn't look like a machined depression to me. Not real symmetrical. Eases my mind. I didn't want to start off the new purchase with a beef with the dealer.

Although i like to make some noise it doesn't take long for loud pipes to be annoying. My pipes put all the noise out near the rider and passenger. How about on baggers where the pipes are behind? I intend to keep stock pipes on my new bagger especially if its radio equipped.

I hear you about loud pipes. My Heritage has Screaming Eagles "Not Legal for Street Use" stamped on the underside. I loved the sound and didn't give it much thought for about 95K miles, but then it started getting on my nerves. I bought a pair of Live Wire earplugs and wear one in my right ear where the exhaust is. Problem solved. I like the quiet of my new CVO, at least for now.

I would second keeping the CVO mufflers using Fulsac baffles you can tune to you engine mods and keep the torque they work really well without obnoxious noise.

Bob, tell me more about those baffles. Not much info on their website. Is it an easy swap? Retune by Harley necessary? Seems far more affordable than new exhaust system.
