Default HD cam for the 2014

i know i will get many opinions here but i will ask anyway

i have 2014 street glide with stage 1 , stock head pipe with cat and HD street cannons. I am looking at cams again , i had the 255 cams in my 2011 street glide and they worked real well and for my riding style they fit perfect . I have looked at the 254E , the 204E , but the 255 still looks like the cam once again on the 2014 Rushmores too , i would appreciate any input on the results anyone found on the 255 , i typically ride in the 2800 - 3200 rpm band in every gear .

i know theres lots of good cams out there , woods etc etc, but i will be sticking with the HD stuff .

Another cam thread going on in here with pretty much the same question. IIRC, the 255 is factory issue for the CVO. I'll see if I can find a link.

Here ya go, hope this helps:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...e-special.html

"i typically ride in the 2800 - 3200 rpm band in every gear."

Andrews 48, FullSac DX Headpipe, V&H Monster Rounds, 4" Rineharts or Kury Crusher mellow (if you can find)

If you're sticking w/H-D cams, don't waste your money. Stock cams in the Rushmore work fine unless you're wanting a high output race tuned engine, then just do a full Stage 3 or Stage 4.

yes thats kind of where i was headed , we have no good indys around here , i like my dealer so hence the SE only HD parts , as you said my fear is spending money on a set of cams and not really noticing anything . my 2014 with stage 1 and dyne tune has more jam than my 2011 with x pipe , cams and stage 1 . maybe i should just leave well enough alone .

I had the Andrews 57 put in my 14 SG. Along with SS high performance lifters.
Matched with my Fulham headers and VH pipes.
I run at 2800-3200 also.
The bike runs great, pulls pulls pulls.
Dyno at 94.8hp, 106.5 Tourge.

I also have the Andrews 57's in my '15 Limited Low. S&S standard lifters, SE pushrods, V&H Power Duals & twin slash rounds, Powervision tuner. As said, from about 2500 on up it pulls hard. I haven't had it dyno'd yet but it's a significant increase over stock.

Get a headpipe and tuner if you don't have one... Getting rid of cats makes a big difference...

2015 ultra limited. V&h powerduals, high output slipons, Arlen ness big sucker. Stock cams. Tuned and dynoed at 94.53 hp and 113.52 tq. I think the stock cams work pretty good.
