Default Let's Count the Cost

Just thought I should add up the cost of upgrades I have "Had" to make to my RoadGlide Standard. I feel these upgrades were essential in order to make this machine run properly for the long haul. These prices are approximate
1. Arlen Ness Slot Track A.C 300.00
2. Rush ceramic headers W/ 4" mufflers 1000.00
3. PV 2 Tuner 500.00
4. Terry Cable rear shocks 700.00
5. Baker Attitude Primary tensioner 200.00
6.Windvest 12" windshield 200.00
Total = 2900.00
These are parts only prices so you can guess how much more time and money have been spent.
Add that to the 24,000 OTD price I paid for this bike and we are now at 26,900.00
Am I happy about it, no!!
Do I love the bike, yes

I keep a spreadsheet....

I'm over 34k spent.

...but who's counting?

If I were to sell it today I'd be lucky to get 22 for it, so it really doesn't matter.

Lets count the cost. NO let me stop you right there, ignorance is bliss. Reminds me of a joke I hear in the woodworking forums, my other expensive hobby. I pray that when I die my wife won't sell my tools for what I told her I paid for them.

And you haven't even come close to scratching the surface of what some people spend on parts, plus obscene labor charges to go with it. I used to work for a guy that claimed he had over $32,000 in his Street Glide, and it didn't look or sound any different than 98% of the others on the street.

Does it matter?? Nope, as long as you like it, it's fine.

I have over 7k in mine, I did all the labor and maintenance, had I spent on labor as well I would be probably double that. Most of the upgrade I did were because I wanted to I never felt any of them were a necessity. These bikes stock are just fine but that's no fun LOL

I had never owned a Harley until this year. I just assumed I would be spending thousands more on unnecessary add ons because that's what everyone who owns a Harley does. I didn't even think twice about it.

I don't keep track of what I spend on mods and don't keep track of my gas mileage..........Why?......It just doesn't matter.
