Default ATF in the primary.....

....you guys that run ATF in the primary; when you go to trade, do you tell the dealer that you have been using ATF or do you change it out to primary oil? If you inform the dealer, do they grouse about it or say nothing?

I wouldn't feel the need to say, or not say what's in there. Or what trans lube I used, etc. If they want to know they can take it apart. I doubt they really care, but service records would be a plus at trade in time I would think.

I use ATF and would not feel obligated to say but if asked I would be proud to tell them and how well it works. Been using it for over 15 years now and will never use anything else.

If your trade in will be resold, the dealer will hopefully service so it will be changed anyway.

If not, they will never know, so it does not matter

FWIW ATF is typically 10W Extremely High Detergent oil. Different types of ATF have different friction modifier loads. Ex: Dextron II, ELF, Ford, etc.

ATF is to thin for primary . No wonder there are so many issues . Seems those that run f+ don't have.

I've never had them ask what fluids, how often, if ever they were changed, or for a service record one when I've traded in.

The dealer don't care. They are concerned with making the new sale
