Default 1st report on minor upgrades

Last weekend I finished up my project for my 14 limited. I changed the air cleaner (element only-left the stock housing) to the K&N HD-1614, installed the DK crankcase breather, used the FL-ViED fuel enricher, removed the stock exhaust and replaced with Cobra power port duel, and reinstalled my stock mufflers. The bike is strong, runs great, and sounds just right. The new headpipe eliminates the cat, and the stock muffles have better flow then pre-cat years.

Here is a breakdown of my costs:
$ 58 K&N high flow air cleaner
$110 FL-ViED's (fuel enricher)
$ 30 DK crancase breather
$375 Cobra Power Port Duels

Total cost = $573

I was able to get out yesterday and run the bike for a couple of hours. The burning heat on my Right foot is gone. There is still some heat from the exhaust, but nowhere near with the stock pipe and the cat. Throttle response is much better and my butt dyno confirms an increase in performance. The mufflers still choked the bike, so I drilled 4 "relief" holes in each muffler.

For anyone looking to bump the performance of their bike without breaking the budget, this is a good, low-cost way to accomplish that. Unfortunately, I will be changing out the fluids and tucking the bike away for winter soon. Once they salt the roads the first time, it's a complete mess until late March/early April.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving.

I have them set at the 12 o'clock position. I believe that puts the air/fuel ratio at 14.0:1

no hesitation from a stop and no popping on deceleration. I don't have a need for any more mods except maybe SE mufflers. Maybe.

Look at Harley CVO mufflers, you can pick them up used, I got mine for $200.
The CVO mufflers sound good and have twice the holes (16) as the standard touring muffler.

The Cobra Power Ports are really nice, and economical I may go back to them during the winter. Some good shopping you did for all you purchased.

The first I did was a K&N filter HD-1614 $58.oo from Summit Racing, along with DK Customs
breather kit $30.oo. The second was Nightrider FL-ViED-10 $100.oo on sale, this was installed
all at the same time. The third was a Rinehart Slimline Dual header pipe $549.oo from Rinehart
directly shipped to my home in Sparks Nevada. I am still running OEM mufflers for now, at this
point I'm at $737.oo, and I'm happy with the way the Bike is running.

Some time next spring I will start looking at slip-on mufflers and a tuner like a Power Vision.
For now the stock mufflers are OK, the wife said she can't hear when I come home. We need
to fix that some time soon.

Got everything dialed in now. After riding and adjusting the Vieds, I have them set at the 3 o'clock position. Seems like the bike needed a bit more fuel then I had originally set it up for. Finished up my 2+2 sweepers last night and put about 200 miles on the bike today. Perfect. These are some easy, economical mods that will make a difference without breaking the bank.

I have the narrow 2+2's to install soon. I'm gradually fine tuning my seating position.
