New Harley Owner
I have owned many street bikes and have been riding for 30 years. A couple of buddies recently bought Harleys so I decided to get one. I bought a 2015 street glide special. I have only put 1000 miles on it and knew right away it needed a lot of work. No complaints here I love the bike and working on bikes.
1. Suspension is terrible. I installed legends AXEO cartridge kit in the front and Aero-A shocks in the rear. The best thing ever, I truly believe it is the best modification I have done to any brand of bike I have owned. If you are on the fence like I was about what brand to use, you will not be sorry with this setup.
2. Handlebars very uncomfortable for me. I installed KlockWerks KlipHanger bars 2" taller and adjustable angle. Awesome setup for me, so much more comfortable. I think they look great. Gloss black matches inner fairing with chrome brackets.
3. Harley color matched lowers. Love the look. Just rode 200 miles in 50 degree temps with boots and riding jeans and medium weight coat. The best part about the lowers for me is I felt at 70 plus miles an hour the wind was trying to spread my legs (I have never owned a motorcycle where my feet were out in front of me), so this bugged me.
I installed LEDS, taller screen, windshield trim mirrors, touring seat with backrests for both. I cant wait to do more....
I love this forum, so much info and entertainment.
Just thought I would share, Have a good rest of the day
