Default Vance and Hines monster ovals

Ok guys, its trigger time. I figured I would give you guys a few hours to chime in. I am looking at the 4.5 vance and hines monster ovals for my road glide. stock headers and stock air intake.

too loud, not loud enough, easy to install, makes the bike run hot....

Opinions are solicited... GO

I've run Monster Ovals on 4 or 5 touring bikes, have them on the one I ride now. Never had them on stock headers always on Dresser Duals or Power Duals. The sound good to me, quiet on the highway but loud enough when you get on it.
Good luck

Nice mufflers with a deep mellow tone, on a stock catalyst head pipe they will be very mild.

I run them on my '03 with True Duals - Nice mellow sound, quiet enough at hiway speeds to hear the radio, loud enough when you romp on it. Never noticed any heat issues they were easy to install and the fit and finish of the chrome and shields is 2nd to none. After many years I still get compliments on the sound however i also have hi-comp pistons and a cam. And after all these years the chrome is still nice. My only negative is the weight and size. Ive been asked what vette i stole them off of....

Just because of the size and weight I went with Monster Rounds on my '13. Again the sound is great, fit and finish 2nd to none.

speaking of fuelmoto.... that's my next purchase. I am wanting to use something to adjust the fuel with stock headers, stock air intake and the slip ons. I know a lot of people say I do not need to adjust the fuel, but Harleys run lean from the factory and this pipe will lean it out even more. I was looking the vance and hines fp3, but I actually saw that its not for my bike (which honestly had me scratching my head).

450 here with Power Duals and SERT. Sounds great and I much prefer to the Monster Ovals that I had prior. Have a buddy with 450 on stock set up and I cannot tell the difference in sound between his and mine.

I haven't run them on stock headers but with an open head pipe they are deep and not loud at all. Add motor work and they get louder but not obnoxious.

I ran the monster rounds a few years back on true duals, (mild cammed 103"), they sounded good. Not loud but anything bigger in diameter is over-powering and looks stupid from the rear, but that's me. Also, I noticed between switching many mufflers during my perfect exhaust quest, that the monsters weighed so much, I was surprised that the two bolts were strong enough to hold them up under the saddle bags, seriously, those mufflers must cause a net loss of 2 mpg's.

You might also look at the Vance & Hines High Outputs, that's what I'm running now, they sound great! Was running CFR's, but they were causing a lot of headaches and ringing in my ears and the ole lady's after 8-12hrs in the saddle.
