I'll be riding from northern IL to Glacier Nat'l Park in August, and will likely take the "long way home" after that. Also thinking about spending time in the Great Smoky Mountains if possible.

What long trips do others have planned for the season?

 

Headed to El Cajon next month, then plan to go up to San Fran and possibly the Red Woods. Can't wait! Been about 6 months since we went out to Cali. Then in the fall I plan to head back home to Wisconsin to visit friends and family

 

At the beginning of June The wife and I will be leaving SE Iowa for Canada to ride the northern edge of lake Superior. I'll probably come back through Northern Wisconsin.

Planning on 6 days but have room to adjust if needed. I'm stoked to go.

 

Calgary to San Diego and back in June. I won't sleep for the next month thinking about it!

Calgary to Vancouver Island and back in September.

 

I'm retiring from DoD at the end of this month after 38 years (which included 12 military). Headed to Florida on the RGS to visit friends over the Memorial Day weekend until about 10 June. I'm planning the big long retirement gift trip...the "me" trip...probably solo...out west for either Aug or Sep (right after Labor Day). Did similar trips in 2013 and 14, but this time going all the way out to the Pacific northwest into Washington and Oregon then down the Pacific coast highway, then heading back into Nevada, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona and Colorado, before heading back to Michigan. I like long unstructured touring trips, especially solo. I usually have the grand vision of where I want to go and what to see and do, and just fill in the gaps along the way. The 2014 trip was 6500 miles over 3 weeks. As for lodging, I usually call hotels at the next day's ride destination the night before, and they've always had a room for one...flexibility is the key. I expect to be gone for about a month.

 

Back in March went to Key West, FL then to Daytona Bike Week. At end of month will be going to Austin, TX area to visit & ride with my son. Due to my wife's illness that is all I will be able to do for long rides this year.

 

I was thinking about a trip to Albuquerque, But now I'm not sure I will make it. My daughter was going to get married in Santa Fe but I think the wedding is off, LOL, She lives here but wanted to get married there.

I have family there along with lifelong friends, Move away 14 years ago. Miss New Mexico.

Arkansas in August, and my buddies are talking about a 3 day trip over Memorial Day if the weather cooperates not sure where too yet on that one. I like it that way, just ride and figure it out along the way.

 

Seattle to Hells Canyon and raft the Snake River. Nothing compared to our 3600 miles to Sturgis & back last year, but we try and go some where every year.
