20,000 on my 14 SG. It was a little loose one time, tightened it up and no problems since.

Mine got really lose (14 RK) with 18k on it. I tried to tighten it but couldn't, thought it was stripping the lever or shaft. Then I took the cap screw out and put a little anti- seize on the threads, wa la , tightened right up. Glad I didn't let it go till it was too late.

Lol, ok man. As in your diagram, the circled part is the shaft that's stripping out. It's circled in red. Look at that shaft. It's what your foot controls attach to. When it strips out, it slides off the inner lever and allows your foot controls to become loose and does not allow you to shift while riding. Look at your diagram one more time and pay attention to the giant red circle.

You and your dealer might be speaking of a different part but that's not what the thread is about. That's why I said it didn't make sense.

Nope....wrong.
Look at the diagram again and look for the transmission or better yet look at your cycle and follow the linkage rod from the front to the rear and you'll see another "lever" on a spline THATS THE PART.
That second lever is attached to a slime that goes directly into the transmission. It's nowhere near the heel toe shifter.

******Just follow the linkage till u get to the transmission.

Had to sit in the garage and stare at for a while that first night just getting my head around I really did it.

Was going buy something but till the mothership came out with the M8 harley wasn't in the running anymore. That said I like this bike, definitely going to bring the joy of just riding back to me.

Go back and just reread the first 5 pages. That should be enough to tell you that this thread is not about the shaft at the tranny, it's about the splined shaft that your foot controls and inner shifter linkage arm are attached to. Obviously you're mistaken on the subject of this thread since that diagram you keep referencing literally has a giant red circle around the part in question, yet you keep dismissing it. You are quite dense.

Nope, sorry......its the spline closest to the trany and NOT closest to the heel/toe shifter arms....according to my HD dealer......BUT perhaps its not a bad idea to tighten BOTH or check BOTH on a regular basis.

Here ya go Rob. From the original post, first sentence. He's saying not the end of the shaft that the foot controls attach to, but the other end. Not the other shaft, just the other end. Hence, the part that's circled in the diagram.

Now, it's fair to say that maybe both shafts are ****, or the levers, but for the purpose of this thread, demonstrated by the guys saying that their levers are falling off, losing them while riding, etc, this thread is about the shaft circled in the diagram.
