Feedback on 2014 Ultra Limited liquid heads
I'm new to this forum. So Hello to everyone.
I'm riding a 2002 Dyna Wide Glide. Love the bike. But interested in stepping up to 2014 Ultra Limited with liquid heads. The bike has very few miles. Around 1700.
Just wanting some feedback on these bikes. Anybody have trouble or hear of any trouble with this year of bike?
Just wanting to do some research on these bikes.
Thanks

There were a couple of recalls for the clutch master cylinder and front brake. Also, there was a batch of defective coolant reservoir necks that leaked.
There were a few porous heads that leaked coolant but again, very few. The shower heads are great bikes and you'll be seeing more and more models going that way. Mines been perfect since day one.

Ive had zero issues with mine. Its had the recalls, but mine has never had an issue thats shut it down. Just make sure all the recalls have been done as mentioned above. As always, the small handful of bikes affected (which you hear about more than the thousands with NO issues) make it seem like more of a problem than it is/was.
Coolant tank filler neck leak/loosing pressure
Clutch basket (they put a wrong bolt in a handful of the bikes in the clutch mechanism)
Clutch master cyl (bad o-rings or such)
Wire loom retainer under gas tank (wires could work out of the channel and chafe)
Gas tank mount. (something about the way it was mounted at the front. As i recall, possible fire risk of the mount puncturing the tank in a crash)
Ive loved mine. Has given me no issues. Mine was one of the bikes ridden from Denver to Salt Lake City after the dealer meeting when they were released that year. As such, a very early production bike. To me, the heat reduction makes the difference in having lowers on year round, vs taking them off in the summer. Also less heat on the passengers feet by far compared to the air only cooled models.
I have no regrets buying a first year design. Any issues that came up, Harley took care of. My only gripe is that you cannot adjust the clutch engagement point (at what point of the lever release it starts to grab) like you can a cable clutch. Flip side, no clutch adjustment or maintenance other than flush/bleed the fluid at specified intervals.

Have a 2014 Limited. Having the third thermostat put in now (due to each one linking). also had to do a new water pump, coolant bottle cover, and the recalls.
I understand that they redesigned the thermostat in 2016 (the new part # has an A at the end). I will see if this is any better. Love the bike, but want it to be dependable as I do multi day rides.
