2016 road king apes quote
Local shop quote for install was 1700.00
So I figured wtf I will buy the stuff get the manual.
A bro or two and a 18 pack.
Have them give me a hand with the project.
Well when I ask them how much was parts alone
And I would do the labor myself.
Can you believe $1011.00 ?
Does this seem excessive to you'll?

this is close to what mine is costing, most are boardtracker prices.
14" Kliphangers 369.00
DIAMOND-BLACK,clutch 99.00
15" harness 38.00
Diamond-Black brk Line 61.00
TWIST GRIP SENSOR KIT 83.00
gaskets ?? 15.00
trike linked adapter 24.00
fluid ?? 12.00
701.00 shipped to my door
that would over 900 at the dealer plus tax (pretty close to your est)

Way too much, IMHO. And the RK is much easier process to install apes on (less steps, anyway) than a Streetglide, for example.
You can get a nice set of bars, extensions, etc., as a kit for under $600. It took me 4 hours to do my Streetglide--and this was my first faired Harley that I mounted Apes on. Most of the trouble was fishing the cables through the bars...
