I had this installed before I picked up the bike. It works well and makes no sound you can hear over the motor. I had to look down at a stop light to see if it was working, it was and pulls a lot of air down toward the ground. I have only put about 200 miles on my bike, just got it a late Friday but it seems to so it job, but not sure about the bike running cooler, weather isn't hot enough yet to determine between the new and the old. Dealer installed it with no charge additional labor. I was having new bars installed as well so he "threw" in the fan install. It's plug and play but the ecm has to be flashed.

Harley says they run cooler.....

Anyway, my wife recently bought a '17 Tri Glide & may be looking at this option. She is really bothered by heat. I know the cat on the M8 bikes has been moved a little further back but that may not be enough. Will be anxious to see reports from those who have installed it.

Has anyone actually read the description for that fan? It's NOT to cool the motor, it's to cool the rider. If you want to cool the bike, wait for Wards to get back in business, or get a Love Jugs fan, or one of the others. This won't help you.

For the most part Mchad you're spot on BUT it also states the fan keeps the riders comfortable by directing the heated air from the rear cylinder and exhaust pipe. Which one could make the case for it actually does assist in resolving engine heat.

I would bet real money that if it lowered the engine temp by any effective amount HD would be all over that in their description/marketing of the product...

The heated air will dissapate from the rear cylinder and exhaust pipe without the fan, it just happens to do this toward the rider and passenger. The fan directs it away from that area.
