Default 2017 Cooling fan

Found a new interesting part for 2017

CoolFlow Fan

http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...05-26800128--1

Description from the web site

Keep your cool on a sweltering summer day. Engineered to maximize rider and passenger comfort in high temperature situations, the CoolFlow Fan is the perfect addition if your bike is subjected to parade duty, rush hour traffic, or extreme temperature environments. Unlike traditional fan kits that try to cool the engine by blowing air across the cylinders and often onto your legs, the CoolFlow Fan keeps the riders comfortable by drawing the heated air away from the rear cylinder and exhaust pipe, and directing it toward the ground.
Features switched On/Off/Auto operation
In the “ON” mode, the fan is active at low speeds, and will turn off when the bike reaches 40mph
As speed lowers, the fan turns back on at 35mph -this gap is intentional to prevent the fan from cycling on and off during low speed changes
In the “AUTO” setting, the fan operates based on a combination of slow vehicle speed and specific engine and ambient temperatures
100% waterproof
Includes everything needed for installation & replacement right side Mid-Frame Air Deflector
Fan operation is indicated in the odometer
Dealer Digital Technician update is required

There was mention of this in an article. They still made it an available part even though they felt that the new design didn't warrant needing it. Guess for parade applications or if people feel the need to want it I guess.

Clearance will be tight once the aftermarket headers catch up.

And if you notice its only Fitment is a '17.. I am guessing that you would need to do a custom install on anything previous do to BCM is probably not set up for it on prior years and knowing my bike's electrical there certainly is not a plug-in connector for it anywhere that resembles the one shown in the PA

So the new motors run cooler than the twin cam but the MoCo offers a fan for it.
Doesn't make sense to me why not offer the fan for the twin cam as well , never mind that wouldn't make sense either to sell something that would improve comfort on the old stuff.

I could have used one of those when I was in Las Vegas and it was 110 degrees. Heat off the rear cylinder on my '14 Limited was toasting my right leg. Had to shut it down anytime I hit a red light.

Did you have EITMS enabled? It helps.

You too can have the fan, just add a nice shiny new 2017 touring motorcycle to your order, I bet the dealership will only charge you a few hours to install it.
