Thinking of trading my SGS for the new Ultra
Well, my wife and I went to the demo days here in KC at the factory. Made the mistake of riding the new Ultra Limited (along with other bikes). The wife fell in love with the backseat, the tourpack speakers and the plush ride. Me, I really like the new motor and torque that comes with it, but I'm still not sure I'm ready for a Ultra Glide and the less than "cool" looks compared to my 2014 SGS.
I was more than impressed with the usable power band of the 2017 and lack of heat (this bike was being constantly ridden). The stereo was actually as good as my Boom 1 on my SGS. And the seat and the ride was very, very good compared to the SGS. I wish they had a better color, the blue and silver is pretty good.
What are your thoughts about making the switch? We love to ride around town and some longer distances, but it's the "cool look" that's really holding me back. Think I'll never look back? Or think I'll regret losing the look?

+1. I'd rather be comfortable than "cool looking", not that an Ultra or Limited is Uncool.... cause they ain't.

This $1,495 freight and setup is BS. This is what they took off for me. I got the story (true or not) that the Indy company's that deliver now are charging an arm and a leg. Not sure what's true or not, but a $28,000 bike brought up to $29,500 is insane. Maybe its just an inflated number that does not exist so they can look like they are discounting.
My 2 tone 14 was 25,000 OTD in July of 14 and that was the model change year. I also got more on my trade too!

Though not the same ultra...I just traded in my streetglide a couple weeks ago. There is no looking back. I'm very happy. The Roadglide ultra that I'm driving now is so comfortable & everything about it is awesome. It was a tough decision, but now I'm glad I made it and wouldn't change it. And yes, the test drive it is what got me in trouble. The wife on the back of this ultra for the test ride was the mistake
