Milwaukee 8 exhaust information
Another dealer and the exact same story.
I did a tee shirt run to Frieze Harley in southern Illinois. while there I stopped by the service department to talk exhaust with the service manager. I asked, was harley coming out with a header for the screaming eagle exhaust package. He flat out told me that they would not be making a screaming eagle exhaust system which includes headers and he said they were not going to do it to comply with EPA standards. He did say that other companies will make complete systems (RC components has one coming out soon and Reinhart would have one too). He gave me an order sheet for the RC compents (669 for the slip ons).
BUT here is the kicker. If you flash the ECU at all, it will void your warrenty automatically. Any modification will void the warranty.This was part of the EPA mandate.
This information may already be common knowledge by now, but I actually heard it from the second tech today.
Add to all that, they didnt have my size tee shirt in stock.

I've never owned or wanted a tuner or flashed an ECU, but doesn't some company make a module that goes between the ECU & the rest of the bike that modifies the signal to fool the ECU into doing what you want it to without flashing it?
Seems like that could be a way to go.

its always been a case where the warranty was voided if you flashed your computer. I don't think they really enforced that however. the EPA now mandates that harley enforce that rule. they also mandate that harley keep track of computers that are flashed. there will be systems available. right now full exhaust systems are not available, slip ons are available.

OP...I feel your pain. Give it time for vendors to catch-up...enjoy the sweet '17 and...wait for warranty to expire, if you so wish to upgrade w/o issue.
