JimTJr - I haven't seen your contract but my guess would be the $3.00 service fee is for a monthly invoice.
You can often avoid that charge by setting up auto payments with your account and/or requesting paperless invoices.
Now, when I say auto payments - I mean you direct when payments are paid and to whom. It is never a good practice to allow anyone to withdraw from your account.

Rick58 - thanks. Absent seeing his contract, I could not be specific. So, I was forced to share my comments in general.
As you mentioned, you set is the way I suggested an avoided the charge.
Perhaps one day there will be a section where we can share some financial information and/or other ways to save money.
Example - I am headed to Florida soon as well as Texas. All of my hotel stays are covered by hotel points. When we look at the many opportunities, we can all save lots of money (and of course have more to spend on our bikes)

I like my .99 % rate I got on my 15 RGS,, now there is a 3.00 a month "Service fee" Which takes it up more,, didn't know about that till I made my first payment online. Not sure if there is anyway around it or not, I've just paid it and moved on.. 3.00 a month on 60 month loan,, a whopping 180.00 extra,,
I pay all my bills through my banks bill pay service, and there is never a charge.
Using HD finance website to pay online, and they will charge you

You are sending money out of your account when and to who you direct.
HD is not coming in and taking money out.
Finally HD finance does not suck if you have good to excellent credit.
They have always beat or matched any rate I've been able to get elsewhere.

I don't recall CSTALK0420 sharing who his fiance source is - maybe Harley or some other financial services organization.
He is in Florida so, hopefully he is out riding. I am sort of stuck inside here in Michigan with this cold weather - but, will head down to Florida in late March to ride for a few days.
Hope this very insightful thread can help him - and any others.

If you got .99% your credit is very good.
Some lenders will simply deny loans to those with marginal credit, Harley offers financing to more customers, and charges higher interest for the higher risk. Helps the dealers move bikes.
You won't incur any additional fees if you don't use their website to make online payments, they are simply, and rightfully, passing along the fee incurred by whatever 3rd party service they use to collect online payments. A very easy fee to avoid.

That's ridiculously high..... With Tier 1 credit I don't see HD offering anything higher than 3.99%
