I went with CVO seat also. I don't like the looks of the stock seat so I wasn't spending any money on it.

I'm beginning to challenge the notion that sitting lower increases handling and/or comfort. Please don't take that as me suggesting you shouldn't do what you're doing. I'm 5'11 as well, and have a 32 inch inseam and long reach. I've always felt like I had good control on my touring bikes but that butt down, knee high position really got painful on long rides. I know you mentioned your Fatboy. It's funny that when I had my Heritage, I found the seating position to be very comfortable, and more comfortable than on the touring bikes. After trying a bunch of seats, I recently put a Cop seat on my Limited. I now understand why Cops can ride these things all day every day. The seat sits me up a couple of inches and back some. It straightens my legs out, straightens my back a bit, and I seem to have greatly improved control of the bike. I was not expecting that, but this position is the most comfortable position I've been in on the two touring models I've owned.

What you need is the "original" Harley reach seat.
It is the reach seat with the part number that ends with 08. Sorry, don't have a catalog handy.

I have a Danny Grey seat that sits you down "into the bike" instead of on top of it. I'm not 100% sold on the comfort yet but you may want to look at DG line of seats. Pretty sure that is what you are looking for.

I finally bought a Corbin that helped with that problem on my RG. Sits me back some and a little lower. I went through several seats before the Corbin. Hope this helps.

Agree... Mean City Cycles!! I wasted a lot of money trying to find the right seat.

Finally had Mean City do a mod, very happy. Plus, they are honest and will not try to get you to buy the most expensive mod. After I told them what I wanted, they asked me a few questions and recommended a lower price mod. you will be very happy with their work and pricing.

Plus if you really wanna you can have em fancy it up with stitching or colored thread and the like! (I did not, but hey, you can!)
Did you have them lower the seat the 3.5 inches and how does it feel now and handle? More controllable with less top heavy feel with lower center of gravity sitting down in the RGS?

Not sure about the narrow seat option maybe just lower it - I don't want any additional frame to show or top edges of side covers...

Here is my 16 FLTRXS with a Corbin Solo that has been lowered and the nose narrowed. For refrence I am 5'11" and this seat sits me down and back compared to stock.
